Yes, they are, but you would not believe the red tape you have to go through to get it. I know because my son is a Paralyzed Veteran. And it takes forever. And they only pay so much. They have a budget you know. My husband and I had to pay so much out of our own pockets that it was pathetic. The process is enough to make you want to pull your hair out and run down the road screaming. Our Veterans are getting screwed. Big time!

    Our taxes pay for that.

Boy I’m not sure what government others have been dealing with but I have nothing but praise for the VA and the way they have handled problems for my son. It took a total of 6 months for him to be given 100% disability and given his disability pension from the day he applied. Getting ramps, we called the contractor, he gave us the bill, VA sent him a check a month later and we paid for the “extras” we ordered. As you can tell I’m pleased with the way things were taken care of. By the way I’m using the computer they gave him to take classes with!

the military? no. The Veteran’s Administration department, however, is. which is a civilian entity funded by your tax dollars.

    Probably not

i believe that they have some support through the v.a. but i dont think the government takes it on it self to find a contractor and pay for the work.

No, the public is responsible. The military may be the conduit, but we, as citizens, owe them the support because right or wrong they were fighting for us. Militarily, it is better to wound combatants than to kill them because it places a much larger burden on the opposition.
